Khmer New Year - 2007

Happy New Year!
The New Year celebration is the largest and most significant annual cultural event for the Cambodian community, both at home and abroad. It shows the resilience of our people and culture, especially for those of us living far away from the Motherland. The Executive Committee of the Cambodian Society in the United Kingdom (CASUNIK) convey their best wishes to all Cambodian and Friends, both inside and outside Cambodia, for a Happy and Prosperous New year.

May You have Long Life, Beauty, Good Health, Strength and Wisdom!

We had a religious ceremony on Saturday 07.04.07 at the Amaravati Buddhist Monastery. It was a great and a rare opportunity for our Cambodian Community in the United Kingdom to have Ven Ngin Phen, Head of the Abbot of the Pothivongsa Buddhist Monastery, near Paris, France, has kindly accepted our invitation to come and participate with us in our New Year Celebration. He is 80 years old and is well respected within the Cambodian Community in France. The Dhamma Tesna and the Questions and Answers Session about Buddhism were so educated and enlightened. The atmosphere was serene. As usual, the service was led by Mr Tan Nam.
