Khmer New Year - 2023

INVITATION

Cambodian New Year Celebration year 2023
The Executive Committee of the CASUNIK wishes to invite all members and friends to the celebration of Khmer New Year on Saturday 15th April 2023.

Due to popularity of the festive season, we suggest that the attenders will book to reserve their places in advance. Numbers are limited as first come first served basis.

10:00	Open - Arrival of Cambodian community members and guests
10:15	Arrival of Monks and Nuns
10:30	Religious (Buddhist) ceremony - Request of Five Precepts - Chant
11:30	Offering of Dana to the Bikkhus
12:00	Luncheon for guests and congregation
14:00	Traditional artistic performances
16:00	Roam Vung Disco
22:30	Close

All Members, friends and guests are advised to bring cooked food (some vegetarian dishes, Please) to cater for the bikkhus,guests and themselves.

For those who would not be able to bring food, please send the contribution cheque or postal order made payable to CASUNIK and send to the address below, preferably 2 weeks prior to the date of the event, to enable CASUNIK to arrange the necessary catering, as appropriate.

Chhnam Thhoh - Year of the Rabbit - BE 2567

The actual date for the Cambodian New Year is the 13th of April. By ancient tradition, the celebration would last for three days. The first day is the beginning of the celebration, the second is the Middle Day (Blind Date) and the third one is the Day when the name of the New Year effectively starts.
