ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING List of participants:
Apologies: Mr Nou Thoul and Dr Khvat Kimpy The Meeting started at 1:45 p.m. in the Rainbow Room of Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, Hemel Hempstead, Herts., following the annual Phchum Ben Celebration. 1. Bun Ny thanked all the members for coming to the meeting and declared the AGM open. He commented on the reason for again celebrating this year Phchum Ben at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery. Members feel a genuine sense of complete serenity at Amaravati, which is most befitting for such a Remembrance Ceremony. He then gave a brief summary of the activities and highlighted the achievements of the Society over the year. 2. Accounts 2000-2001 The Annual Accounts as tabled by Sambath were approved. 3. Election of New Executive Committee There was no volunteer for the Chair. Bun Ny kindly agreed to stand for another term, he was re-elected Chair for 2001-2002 – by 14 votes (including 2 proxy votes) with 2 abstentions. The remaining members who agreed to stand for the new Executive Committee included: Mrs Ruos Pak Neari, Mr Tan Chea, Mr Nou Thoul, Dr Khvat Kimpy, Dr Heng Phalla Sambath and Mr Moeng Phok. The meeting unanimously elected this group of members as a whole to the new EC for 2001-2002. The new Chairman after thanking the meeting confirmed that the posts held by the new EC members: President: Mr Chea Bun Ny Adviser: Dr Khvat Kimpy Vice-President: Mr Moeng Phok Adviser: Mr Nou Thoul Treasurer: Dr Heng Phalla Sambath Adviser: Mr Tan Chea Secretary-General: Mrs Ruos Pak Neari
